Jacob Lyda Personally Affected By Devastation In Alabama

(One of Lyda's vehicles destroyed in the storms)

The horrific storms that roared through Alabama last week directly affected country artist Jacob Lyda and his family. While no one in his family was injured, Jacob and his family suffered major property damage to several structures and vehicles in their town of Stevenson, AL.

Jacob's parents experienced extensive damage to their house, and both of their vehicles were destroyed. The garage where Jacob and his father restore classic trucks was leveled; the two trucks inside were also destroyed.  Jacob, now based in Nashville, still owns property in Stevenson; the roof of the house was smashed and distressed by trees and other debris, and all of the windows were blown out.

“Thankfully everyone in my family is okay,” said Jacob. “My family is working through major damage to our possessions and property – it's going to be a long road.  My thoughts & prayers go out to friends & neighbors who have lost their lives in this devastating tragedy.”

Jacob learned of the extensive damage the Lydas suffered while away at a show last Tuesday night. Upon arriving back in Nashville, Jacob immediately drove to Alabama to assist his family and friends in his hometown.
