Jake Owen Reveals Plans to Release Summer EP
Those of you looking for songs to add to your summer playlist are in luck – country hitmaker Jake Owen is gearing up to release a summertime EP to iTunes.
Jake revealed the news last week at his annual fan club party in Nashville.
“My life in the summer and all the time, pretty much, is about being on the water, being on the lake, and I wanted to make a summer-y beat,” he said (quote via The Boot). “I wanted to put out on iTunes three or four tunes that all my friends out on the lake can put on their boat and crank it up.”
Jake’s even rallied his friends from hot new duo Florida Georgia Line to sing with him on the EP.
“I’ve been trying to help my friends that are coming up, and the Florida Georgia Line guys, so I wanted to do this song with them,” he explained. “We were messing around with the whole ‘Barefoot Blue Jean Night’ thing and all, I love the vibe of that tune, so I did this song with them, called ‘Summer Jam.”
As of now, no official EP release date has been set.
