Jason Aldean’s Tuesday Morning Wake Up Calls
CMT’s Alison Bonaguro caught up with Jason Aldean just after he learned the news of his two ACM nominations on Tuesday. Jason told Bonaguro that he thought something bad had happened when the phone calls came in.
“I was in bed asleep when the calls came in at 7:30 this morning,” hes said. “The house phone kept ringing, my cell phone kept ringing. I thought somebody’d gotten in a car wreck.”
Thankfully, no one had gotten in a car accident; Jason had just received a nomination for ACM Male Vocalist of the Year and ACM Entertainer of the Year.
After receiving the news from his manager and his father, Jason said he thought it was too good to be true, so he had to see it for himself.
“I was just waiting on them to tell me they’re playing a joke on me. It’s not for real until I read it on the Internet.”
Jason told Bonaguro he enjoys the recognition. “When things are good, you feel like people aren’t taking notice. But then it turns out they are, and it’s a nice pat on the back.”
So what did he do to celebrate the good news? He reportedly took his daughters to school then went to WalMart to get his oil changed.
Aldean’s next tour stop is tonight in his hometown of Macon, GA.
