Jessica Simpson Review & Pictures

Jessica has been one busy girl lately – she has been to the Strawberry Festival in Florida to see Kellie Pickler, Jake Owen, Rodney Atkins, and now she brought us back her review and pictures of Jessica Simpson!…

Let me first off say that I have been a fan of Jessica since I was 12 years old. I always thought she was amazing, not just because of her voice, but because she had my name (haha). This was my first time seeing her as a country artist (I don't count that mini set she did at CMA festival) so I was REALLY excited to see her. I heard all the BAD reviews Jessica got and I shrugged them off my shoulders thinking that couldn't be right, Jessica is an amazing performer and singer. Anyways here is my review. Jessica came out around 8pm, when she was supposed to be out at 7:30pm. She started singing and sounded HORRIBLE, high pitched breathy etc. Turns out it was just the sound system because when we were allowed to move up to the stage and I got really close to her she sounded pretty good. Anyways, she did not win me over like she did when I was 12. She seemed lost, and miserable up on stage in-between the songs. She would talk about Tony and went on to “promise us” that their relationship was a normal one. She went on to say “yeah we fight, but mostly about missing each other, I promise we are like a normal couple.” That whole sentence took about 2 minutes to get out, with spaces and hair twirling in-between. She went on to say the most random things ever and even went on to do an introduction of a song only to find out that wasn't the song she was going to be singing next. The part that really got to me was when Jessica said “I have an awesome band, they are great! Here is my band!” and WALKED OFF STAGE and had them introduce THEMSELVES! This was the first time I’ve ever seen that happen. My mom joked that she probably didn't even know their names. My mom also said she felt bad for Jessica, she said it seemed like she was being forced to be up there or that something was seriously going on with her. We also came to the conclusion that maybe she is used to selling out things and this SMALL arena/stage was FAR from even close to being sold out. I honestly think Jessica should stick to pop music. When she sang “When I’m With You” she belted out that song, danced and looked like she was having fun, and that was the Jessica I remembered seeing when I was 12. When she sang her country songs it was very blah to me. She ended the concert by telling us “I have to pee; I always have to pee after a show! Goodnight!” and walked off stage. Since I am/was a big fan of Jessica I figured I’d hang around and try to meet her, since I almost died at CMA Fest trying to get a ticket to meet her I thought this would be a lot calmer and every other artist who played made sure they came and met the fans who didn't have meet and greets. Anyways I stood in the back with about 15-20 other people for almost an hour. Her band members came out and said they felt sorry for us for having to wait this long. They stayed and talked and handed out guitar pics to everyone who wanted. They said goodbye and wished us all luck that Jessica would come out and meet us. When a girl asked security if he thought Jessica would come out he looked at the girl and started laughing. He said… “I highly doubt that! She rolled in on the bus, stayed on till her meet and greet, got off did that, went right back on the bus, got off for the show and right after the show walked right back on her bus.” We still waited around though, in hopes maybe she would get off her bus, but she never did. When her bus rolled out they made sure curtains were closed, blinds were shut, you couldn't even get a glimpse of her leaving. In my opinion if you aren't doing great in the business you want to be in, you go out of your way to make your fans happy. Even if she just came off the bus and scribbled a J on a few pieces of paper the fans would have walked away happy, instead a lot of us walked away disappointed and had a new not so good outlook towards her. I know this review has been all me bad mouthing Jessica, but in all honesty I went to this concert extremely excited to see one of my favorite singers and idols and left extremely disappointed.
