After his own struggle with addiction, Joe Nichols has teamed up with The Hopeline, an outreach site dedicated to being a resource for those struggling with addiction. Centering around his song “An Old Friend Of Mine,” AnOldFriendOfMine.com features an introductory message from Joe as well as the video for the title song.

Joe, who has been sober for about a year, says “This site exists out of my desire to offer more than a song when talking about my struggle with addiction and recovery. The purpose of OldFriendofmine.com is to be a starting point resource for teens, families, parents, or individuals that are struggling with addiction or know some one who is.”

AnOldFriendOfMine.com offers a variety of resources in connection with The Hopeline. Hopeline counselors will be moderating the chat room on the site on Thursday evenings from 7pm – 9pm EST to help site visitors find help and hope in a moment of need. The chat room also exists for people in recovery to talk with others around the world about how either they themselves or someone they know has said “Goodbye” to addiction.

In addition to the chat room, site visitors have the option to share their addiction story with Joe. Visitors can submit a written, audio, or video story for Joe to view.
