‘Tomorrow’ Becomes Chris Young’s 4th Consecutive No.1

Tomorrow continues to look bright for Chris Young! Less than two weeks after the release of his highly acclaimed third album Neon, which opened at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart to sales of more than 72,000 copies, Grammy nominated performer Chris Young has scored his fourth consecutive No.1 smash with “Tomorrow.”

“I am completely blown away,” shares Chris after learning of the song’s chart topping status. “For ‘Neon’ to get such an amazing response from the fans and then for ‘Tomorrow’ to go to #1 right after, it feels like I’m living a dream!”

The song, called a “career defining cut” by the Associated Press, is certified GOLD by the RIAA with more than 615,000 downloads, making it his best-selling digital track to date.

“I wrote ‘Tomorrow’ with two really good friends of mine, Frank Myers and Anthony Smith,” Young tells CountryMusicIsLove. “I always go to sleep, wake up the next morning and listen to anything I write. I keep it on my phone. I just wanna sleep on it a little bit, get it out of my head and then go, ‘is this as good as we think it is?'”

“I got up and I was like, that’s the bar for [‘Neon’], that’s where we want everything to be, as good as this song. It’s a little nerve-wracking when you say that, because then it has to come out and meet those expectations, but so far it’s looking pretty good.”

“I think, immediately, when we wrote that song, we knew that was going to be the first single, but again that also puts a little pressure on you,” Young recently told us of “Tomorrow.” “I’m glad that it didn’t just completely fall flat and that we weren’t all off base.”

The singer/songwriter’s three previous chart toppers include “Gettin’ You Home,” “Voices” and the title track to his 2009 sophomore album, The Man I Want To Be.

Next up for Young is an appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on July 27 where he’ll perform songs from the recently released Neon.
