Tony Bennett Sings Carrie Underwood’s Praises

Music legend Tony Bennett and country music superstar Carrie Underwood will come together for a special duet on the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards tonight. After rehearsing the number with Underwood on Friday, Bennett took time to chat with reporters about working with the former “American Idol” champ.

“She’s beautiful and she sings great and she’s so popular,” he told The Associated Press as he came off stage. “It’s just a wonderful experience to be on the show.”

Underwood returned the praise calling Bennett “America’s most enduring artist.”

Bennett, who performed at the very first GRAMMY Awards, says he always enjoys the show.

“I’ve been on every single one that we’ve had through the years,” Bennett said. “And what I love about it … this is the only place where all the performers get together in one weekend, and it’s so great to see old friends and new guys that are coming up.”

The 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards will air tonight 8–11:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on CBS.
