While songs about love gone wrong were prominent in 2016, many country artists didn’t face those same issues when it came to matters of the heart. In fact, several committed themselves to another when they either popped the question or answered it.

Country newcomer Mickey Guyton is done singing ‘Heartbreak Songs’ after her boyfriend got down on one knee while both members of Dan + Shay decided that they were “Already Ready” to build their lives “From the Ground Up.”

Check out 2016’s precious country proposals…

First to drop down on one knee was “Live A Little” singer Dean Alexander. After meeting her five years ago in Australia, Alexander decided to make Liz Bok his bride with an impromptu proposal in Sonoma, CA. After being inspired during a wine tasting, the singer knew what to do and chronicled the entire event in a post on Facebook. “After getting to know the amazing staff, owner Tim, and his wife ML & toasting the new year a rush of clarity & urgency came over me to ask Ms. Liz Bok to marry me,” he wrote.

In March, Nashville actor Chris Carmack asked for girlfriend Erin Slaver’s hand in marriage over champagne. The two announced their plans to the world in a sweet Instagram post that showed off the couple in a loving embrace. The two didn’t wait too long to start a family, either, as they welcomed a baby later in the year.

Two budding country singers collided when Native Run’s Rachel Beauregard and Dean Berner of Edens Edge got engaged. In one of the most romantic moves in the book, Berner brought Beauregard back to the spot of their first kiss in order to have another memorable moment together… a proposal! The couple shared the news the morning after, writing “We’re so excited to share our happiness all our family, friends, and loved ones around the world and elsewhere. We’re so excited and are currently celebrating over our favorite and most important meal of the day, breakfast.”

We’re “Obsessed” with how Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay proposed to his girlfriend, Hannah Billingsley. The singer took his lady on a drive to her family church in Arkansas and upon arriving, their heartfelt song “From the Ground Up” began to play. After he said those four magic words, members of both sides of their family emerged for one unforgettably romantic evening. The couple later revealed that they will kick off their new chapter with a baby on the way!

Vocal powerhouse Mickey Guyton has spent much of the year singing about an ex-boyfriend who spent his time bragging about being the subject of her music. She’ll likely never sing of him again since she’s got a new man in her corner, one who popped the question in early November. The singer, who is relatively private about her personal life, shared a snap of her gorgeous new bling on a notebook sporting the phrase that many girls utter when they get the surprise of a lifetime… “Can’t even!”

Following the lead of his Dan + Shay counterpart, Dan Smyers also decided that he was ready to take a walk down the aisle when he got down on one knee for his longtime girlfriend, Abby Law, on the sandy beaches of Hawaii. “We’re gonna save all the animals together, FOREVER. I love you,@abbydlaw,” he wrote in a post on Instagram with Law showing off the new bling on her left hand.

Kacey Musgraves got quite the surprise on Christmas Eve when her singer/songwriter boyfriend Ruston Kelly popped the question in her childhood home. Musgraves shared the news with fans on Christmas morning, saying “I didn’t say yes…I said HELL YESSSS!!”

While making pancakes on Christmas morning, Kelsea Ballerini was shocked to see her Australian singer/songwriter boyfriend down on one knee asking her to marry him. “Loving him has been the greatest gift of my life. And now I get to do it for life,” she said when she made the announcement on social media later that evening.

Congratulations to the happy couples!
