Billy Currington Gets Sandy and Sensual in New Track, ‘Seaside’

Beachy country favorite Billy Currington sticks to what he knows in the new track, “Seaside,” offering up a sensual, salt-sprayed anthem for the summer.

Written by the hit maker at his Tybee Island beach estate with Jordan Schmidt and Steven Lee Olsen, the hot-blooded track lands right in Currington’s wheelhouse. All about a sandy, sun-baked romance and delivered with an ultra-relaxed vocal, it also achieves a hard-to-do feat — feeling propulsive but still easy-going, like a warm ocean breeze. And check out Currington’s uncharacteristic talk-rapping second verse, delivered in low down baritone style.

“I can see you seaside, runnin’ ’round with a Rum Runner / Hair down, wearin’ nothin’ but the summer / I can see that sunshine layin’ its tan on you / I can see the moonlight, like a spotlight down on ya / Salt Life, baby, that’s the way I want ya / Waist deep in the ocean, while I soak in all that view / Seaside / I want you seaside,” goes the hypnotic chorus.

There’s no word on whether or not Currington is heading toward another full album release, but “Seaside” follows his 2019 single, “Details,” and 2018’s “Bring It On Over.” He recently celebrated five-year anniversary of his last album, the hit spawning Summer Forever.
