Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber brought the good vibes to the 54th Annual CMA Awards, teaming up for a gorgeous rendition of their hit, “10,000 Hours.”

Featuring soaring hearts and and even loftier vocal blend — lush and thick enough to fill the emptiness of the massive Hollywood Bowl, where the performance was pre-taped — the crossover collab was an early bright spot in a night of firsts. Duo member Dan Smyers played piano and delivered harmony vocal, while Shay Mooney pushed his voice to the stratosphere and his pop superstar counterpart matched every note, offering a few vocal acrobatics of his own. All sweetness and overflowing with romance, the moment showed how simple songs about powerful feelings can build into something great.

Released in October of 2019, “10,000 Hours” has gone on to become of of the most streamed country songs in history, hitting number one on the Billboard country charts and going 3X Platinum.

Dan + Shay were up for four nominations heading into the night — including Single of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year for “10,000 Hours.” Co-hosted by Darius Rucker and Reba McEntire, the 54th Annual CMA Awards aired live on ABC from Nashville’s Music City Center on November 11.
