Rising country artist and American Idol alum Garrett Jacobs is taking a trip back to his underage and heartbroken days on his brand new song, “Into The Bar.”

The mid-tempo tune finds a then-underaged Jacobs pining for that sacred bar entry—where the beguiling neon lights, people and booze sometimes help heartbroken individuals mourn their romantic splits. Over anthemic drums and poignant lyrics, the Louisiana native wonders if the bouncer would “turn a blind eye” to his age and what being in that very environment would be like. He knows he’ll have to live with his broken heart—but therein lies the alluring desire to be in communion with friends at a bar.

“I wrote ‘Into The Bar’ with two insanely talented writers, Jordan Walker and Jacob Davis,” Jacobs shares. “It’s written from a different perspective than your usual country song. I was 20 years old when we wrote this song, and it’s about wishing you could get into the bar to hang out with your friends while trying to get over someone.”

“Into The Bar” marks Jacobs’ first release of the year. It follows the songs “Young Love,” “New To This,” “Done Holding On,” and “Already Ready.” Fans can expect more new music from the promising 21-year-old this year.

All day today (Feb. 26), the singer is taking over Sounds Like Nashville’s Instagram page. Fans can take a peek into the life of Garrett Jacobs HERE.
