Jon Pardi has dropped the needle on another dose of hard hitting modern honky tonk, sharing the flirtatious new single, “Last Night Lonely.”

Penned by Joe Fox, Jimi Bell and Dylan Marlowe, the twangy anthem is another blast from the fiddle-and-steel past — perfectly suited to finding love under neon lights. Pounding drums and string-bending melodies combine with the easy rasp of Pardi’s voice, and all through the song, he lets the pickup lines fly.

You can almost picture the tall California native shuffling up to a bar, looking someone straight in the eye and delivering the chorus hook — with a sly grin, of course.

“We could be, some history in making girl / Tonight might be your, last night lonely.”

Pardi shared the track on social media, which prompted fellow star Kane Brown to comment that his “best friend” and real-life neighbor had brought “a heater.” Meanwhile Pardi himself noted that “Last Night Lonely” marks the first taste of his upcoming fourth album, which has yet to be announced.

More info on that will likely come soon, since Pardi has let fans know he spent most of 2021 writing new material, and maybe one day he can perform the new track in his own Tequila Little Time Bar. “Last Night Lonely” is the follow up to “Tequila Little Time” and “Ain’t Always the Cowboy” — with both reached the Top 5 at country radio — and he’s also sitting on a Gold, Platinum and multi-Platinum streak that stretches back 10 songs to his second single, 2013’s “Up All Night”
