Kameron Marlowe Ushers In Summer Romance With ‘Tequila Talkin”

Rising country artist and The Voice alum Kameron Marlowe has just dropped his first release of the year, “Tequila Talkin’.”

The breezy feel-good track, penned by Marlowe, Ray Fulcher and Dan Isbell, serves as a perfect roll-your-windows-down romantic summer anthem.

“That ain’t the tequila talkin’ babe / The way you’re smiling’s got me thinking maybe / We should let the salt and the lime have its way / We’ll make up our minds tomorrow, but either way Baby, I’m fallin’ And that ain’t the tequila talkin’,” the Kannapolis, North Carolina native declares with a lovestruck smirk on the chorus, over rollicking drum beats and guitar riffs.

“I always get a little extra confidence from tequila, and the line was really just a way to meet girls at the bar” Marlowe joked about the feel-good tune. “We’ve gotten to play this one live a few times already and the reaction has felt so positive. I’m also such a sucker for a fiddle in a country song, so this is one of my favorite songs we’ve released so far.”

To celebrate “Tequila Talkin’,” the Sony Music Nashville recording artist is set for a special performance Wednesday night (5/5) at the Justin Timberlake’s Twelve Thirty Club in Nashville. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. CT, with surprise guests taking the stage throughout the night.

Prior to this, Marlowe released his major label debut self-titled EP. The six-track collection features his current single, “Sober As A Drunk,” as well as the streaming behemoths “Burn ‘Em All” and “Giving You Up.” Last year, the promising newcomer was also featured on our Get To Know Q&A series, where he shared about his journey to country music and the stories behind songs on his EP.

Already selling out headlining shows (with COVID-19 protocols in place), it was recently announced that Marlowe will join Brad Paisley’s Tour 2021, kicking off July 8 in Jacksonville, FL.
