Michael Ray gives his upcoming single the less-is-more treatment in a new acoustic video, stripping down the regret filled “Her World or Mine.”

Written by Brett Beavers, Jamie Paulin and Travis Denning, the emotionally-charged track reveals the effects of a breakup from two very different points of view – and spoiler alert, Ray is not the one who’s feeling good about the situation.

Filming the new clip at Nashville’s Layman Drug Company (an old drug store converted into a recording studio), Ray sings the sullen song in an all-white room backed only by a piano, and uses his classic vocal to color the story in. One person is sleeping good, he sings, while the other hates to face the night. And even though Ray’s not living the story out anymore – he’s now engaged to country singer Carly Pearce – he knows the story by heart.

“‘Her World or Mine’ is not a reflection of where I am today, but it’s the exact reflection of where I was a few years ago,” he explains to People.com. “I can deliver this song now in a hopeful way because I did live it, and I came out on the other side.”

Ray’s “Her World or Mine” is the third single off his second album, Amos, and follows the chart-topping success of his flirty “One That Got Away.” The Florida native is currently wrapping up his headlining Nineteen Tour, then joining Brantley Gilbert’s Not Like Us Tour and Old Dominion’s Make It Sweet Tour through the rest of 2019.
