Zac Brown Band drift off into a quarantine daydream on their new track “You and Islands,” sailing away to better days in their mind.

Written, recorded and produced while in COVID-19 isolation by Brown, Ben Simonetti and Adam James, the blissful tropical jam find Brown in a nostalgic head space — but also looking ahead. Wishing for the “before time” when life and love seemed so simple, he resolves to leave his troubles behind and get back to his “ass-in-the-water, toes-in-the-sand” happy place.

“Let’s get back to you and islands / Bahama breeze blowing through your hair / Starin’ at that blue horizon / Close my eyes and I’m right back there / I swear I feel the chair sinkin’ in the sand / Listenin’ to the rasta band / The love we made that last night / Let’s get back to you and islands / Everything, baby, everything’ll be alright,” goes the hopeful chorus.

“This unprecedented time at home has given us the opportunity to write and share new music with our fans,” Brown says in a statement. “As we continue to navigate through this together, we hope our music can bring you a little bit of positivity and transport you to a different time and place – even if just for a few minutes. This was a fun track to record. We hope you sing along with us as we daydream about days to come!”

“You and Islands” follows ZBB’s heartwarming father-daughter single, “The Man Who Loves You The Most,” and their recent 4th With The Family livestream performance, which raised over $1.4 million for the veterans support programs of Brown’s Camp Southern Ground.
