Say ‘Aloha’ To ‘American Idol’ As ABC Show Heads to Hawaii

In just several months, the search for America’s next big superstar will return when ABC airs season two of American Idol. The journey begins on television in March, but the search is already underway as filming has been ongoing since last summer.

As fans anxiously await the auditions, the show is currently working towards finding its Top 24 with the showcase round. While the round took place in Los Angeles for its inaugural season on ABC, the network decided to change things up this go around and head all the way to Hawaii.

Leading the charge to find the best of the best talent, is Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry, all returning for another season of the hit show. Each of the three judges met up at the Disney Aulani resort and spa to resume their task of finding the next American Idol.

Photos of their adventures have been shared across Idol’s social channels, showcasing all of the hard work (and fun!) the cast is having.

Also in Hawaii is Bobby Bones, who returns to Idol this season as a full-time mentor. Bones joined the cast in season one on ABC as a mentor for the Top 24 as they paired up with superstar artists. The radio host will now appear throughout the season, coaching the contestants over the many weeks of the show.
