Just a week after announcing the arrival of new coach, Ariana Grande, the cast of NBC’s The Voice have gathered ’round the campfire for a little quality time. But in a just-released commercial, their old-time “tradition” gets a pop-superstar refresh.

Arriving on Tuesday (July 27), the clip finds longtime coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend enjoying some peaceful tranquility at a mountaintop campsite, with plenty of time to do some star gazing. But after Shelton notices a particularly brilliant twinkle in the nighttime sky, Grande makes her grand entrance.

“I’m not sure if you’re aware, but we kind of have a little tradition,” Clarkson says, welcoming Grande to the group.

“The new coach has to sing us a little song around the campfire,” Legend explains with a smile.

But with a name like “Ariana Grande,” this rookie isn’t about to do anything “little.” A spotlight cuts through the high-country night as Grande picks up a microphone and belts out of powerful note, leaving her fellow coaches in awe. … And “Ranger” Carson Daly to fend for himself against the local wildlife.

The wilderness-themed clip was teased by the cast on Monday, and Season 21 of The Voice kicks off September 20 — back on NBC in its primetime slot on Monday and Tuesday nights. Last season was won by Team Blake’s Cam Anthony, giving Shelton the crown for the second time in the last three seasons.
