Watch Carrie Underwood Prank Nashville Tourists on ‘Kimmel’

Nashville tourists are often hoping to bump into a big time country star while enjoying city’s famed Lower Broadway. And while rare, that definitely does happen from time to time — just ask Carrie Underwood.

A few days before her time as co-host on the 53rd annual CMA Awards, Underwood teamed up with late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel to give a few lucky Nashville visitors exactly what they were after. They just had no idea it was happening, that’s all.

The hilarious prank finds Underwood hiding in a store room in one of Broadway’s many boot stores, just waiting for a group of tourists to come in. Once that happens store employees get a little background information, and Underwood translates it into song form, all while the unsuspecting marks keep shopping. They can hear Underwood singing over the store’s speakers — and she sure seems to be singing about them — but there’s no way she’s actually there … right?

Soon enough the superstar reveals herself and leaves her new friends in complete disbelief as to what just happened — and presumably with a brand new pair of boots — proving once again that you never know what’ll happen on a trip to Music City!
