Dierks Bentley Honors Late Dog Jake With Photo Montage During Concert

When Dierks Bentley announced the passing of his beloved four-legged comrade, Jake, the entire country music world mourned with him.

Jake was 15 and battling cancer when he passed, marking an end to a profound chapter in Bentley’s life. “Man’s best friend” had been by the side of his owner for the entirety of the Arizona native’s career, even appearing in several music videos and joining him on red carpets throughout the years.

During Bentley’s Tampa, FL stop on his Somewhere On A Beach Tour, he paid tribute to his partner-in-crime with a photo montage at the end of his performance of “Every Mile A Memory.”

In the clip posted to YouTube, it’s clear that Bentley is anticipating the captivating moment as he does several spins to check out the screens throughout the length of the song. At the conclusion of the track, he turns to see  Jake’s furry face across the screens in numerous pictures from years past.

The montage isn’t the first time Bentley paid tribute to Jake. On his most recent album, Black, Bentley sings about his pal on the track “Can’t Be Replaced,” a song he wrote with Luke Laird and Hillary Lindsey. The touching song includes lyrics like “For fifteen years right by my side/ From a single man to three kids and a wife/ Friends come and go, but when it comes to Jake/ There’s just some things that can’t be replaced.”

And Jake is one dog that certainly can’t be replaced.
