Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard told fans he was involved in a motorcycle accident this week, posting a video to social media with temporary cast on his leg.

Noting that his world had “drastically slowed down” in recent days, Hubbard said the accident happened while he was riding motocross. Over jumping his dirt bike and landing hard on flat ground, the country star ruptured the achilles tendon and broke a bone on his left ankle.

He’ll be ok in the long run, but the timing couldn’t be worse for the Hubbard family, who are expecting the birth of their third child in about a month. Unfortunately for them, doctors told Hubbard he’ll need surgery next week, and to expect a five-week recovery period.

“I’m really bummed. I’m upset I can’t be as helpful around the house as I would like to be,” he said, the sounds of a crying child in the background hammering his point home. “But I know God is trying to teach me something through all this. I’m gonna try to stay positive and work on my mental game … and apparently some upper body.”

Hubbard and his wife Hayley already have two children, a son named Luca (who just celebrated his first birthday) and a daughter named Olivia, who is three-and-a-half. Baby number three will be a boy, as the couple revealed in March.
