Jamie Lynn Spears’ Daughter ‘Awake and Talking’ After ATV Accident
“With her father, mother and stepfather by her side, Maddie regained consciousness mid-day Tuesday, February 7,” the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Department stated.
After a few hectic days, Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter, Maddie, is finally beginning to recover from her horrific ATV accident.
The 8-year-old suffered severe injuries after being involved in an ATV incident, in which the outdoor recreational vehicle flipped and left her submerged in the water. After the incident, Maddie was airlifted to a hospital in the New Orleans area to receive proper care. Reported as being in a critical yet stable condition, it was earlier this afternoon that she showed small signs of recovery by waking up after her serious state.
“With her father, mother and stepfather by her side, Maddie regained consciousness mid-day Tuesday, February 7,” the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Department told People Magazine in a statement provided by a Spears family rep.
While under the supervision of Spears and her husband, Maddie swerved to avoid a drainage ditch, but ended up in a nearby pond due to over-correction. Her injuries are not completely certain at this point, but the rep confirmed that Maddie is on the up and up from her previous condition.
“Doctors were able to remove the ventilator today and she is awake and talking,” the statement continued. “Maddie continues to receive oxygen and is being monitored closely but it appears that she has not suffered any neurological consequences from the accident.”
During this uncertain time, both Maddie’s grandfather and her aunt, Britney Spears, asked for prayers from fans to encourage Maddie and the family during recovery. While there were no other details released at this time, she is still in the healing process and more details will come as announced.
