Jana Kramer Shares Stories of Four Miscarriages in Episode 2 of Her Vlog

Like many women, Jana Kramer has struggled with getting pregnant. After four failed in vitro fertilization attempts, the singer and her husband, Michael Caussin, weren’t sure if they’d ever expand their family. But just after their final IVF attempt failed to take, the couple conceived a baby naturally, something the singer is incredibly grateful for.

Though she struggled with loss before, Kramer wants to be open with other women about her journey to pregnancy, while sharing the bad stuff people don’t like to talk about.

“I want to be as open and honest and raw as possible and that’s why I’m doing this. I wanted to show you guys my journey of becoming pregnant,” shared Kramer in episode two of her vlog.

“When Mike and I first got together, we were having trouble conceiving, so I went to the doctors and started the process of IVF. We had only three embryos and we implanted the two embryos. I ended up getting pregnant but we had a very, very early chemical loss,” she recalled.

Not long after, however, the couple got pregnant naturally with their now two-year-old daughter Jolie Rae.

Just months after welcoming Jolie, Kramer found out she was pregnant again. Soon after, she learned she’d lost the baby and recorded her reaction, a video she wasn’t quite sure if she wanted to show.

After sharing the heartbreaking clip, Kramer explained that she and Caussin got pregnant in October, and again, suffered a miscarriage. That’s when they decided to try IVF with their last embryo.

“Mike and I said, ‘We still have a boy embryo, why don’t we just give it a try?’ This was our IVF journey with the very last embryo we had,” she shared before playing home videos of getting progesterone shots and doctors appointments.

The treatments were once again unseccessful, but heartbreak soon turned to joy. Like with Jolie, shortly after their IVF letdown, the couple was able to conceive naturally, and are expecting a baby this winter.

“Just like Jolie, the next pregnancy, I got pregnant again [naturally]. I don’t know if my system needed some of the IVF medicines to hold my pregnancy, I’m not really sure. But we are pregnant now. I am almost 19 weeks,” she said.

Added Kramer, “The times that I’ve miscarried after Jolie, I just remember looking at her like, ‘Man, I’m so lucky to have her.’”

Kramer and Caussin shared their exciting baby news with a post to Instagram in June. The couple, posed with their daughter, sat together smiling with a sign that read “Only child, expiring November 2018.” They have yet to reveal whether the new addition is a boy or a girl.
