2014 has been an eventful year for Jason Aldean. The singer embarked on a sold-out tour, earned the fastest-selling platinum single of the year with “Burnin’ It Down,” and released a chart-topping new album. On top of his red-hot career, Aldean’s personal life is also on fire.
The Georgia native proposed to girlfriend Brittany Kerr in September, and it appears they’re planning to wed soon. At Tuesday night’s CMT Artists of the Year event, Aldean revealed to PEOPLE that he and Kerr are in the midst of planning their nuptials. “It’s kind of hard when you’re touring as much as we do,” he admitted. “But with the holidays coming up, we’ll have some time off. I can’t tell you when, but it will definitely be sooner than later.”
It sounds like a holiday wedding might be in the books for the pair! The couple’s relationship has always been a hotbed for controversy. They took their relationship public earlier this year after Aldean’s very public divorce, which spawned after Aldean and Kerr were spotted kissing at a Hollywood bar in September of 2012.
