Fans in Dodger Stadium were ready to ‘light it up’ on Saturday night, July 28, when Luke Bryan took to the stage. The four-time Entertainer of the Year made history when he became the first-ever country artist to headline the historic venue.

“Stadiums are a lot of work,” Luke shared with Billboard before the show. “You’ve gotta try to make 50,000 people feel like [they’re in] an intimate setting and an intimate environment. When you’re playing a 15,000-seat amphitheater, everybody’s right in front of you. When I get done with a stadium, I feel like I ran a marathon. There’s no just getting up there and nonchalantly making a stadium show happen. You gotta work hard at it.”

The show marked Bryan’s eighth stadium show out of 13 on his “What Makes You Country Tour XL Stadium Sized.”

The event was historic not only for the genre, but for the Georgia native too, as his family were in attendance at the show. Sons Bo and Tate got to join the singer on stage for an adorable family moment, while nephew Til rocked a Dodgers jersey. Bryan’s wife Caroline was also in attendance, memorializing the evening with posts to her Instagram.

Bryan will embrace the remaining summer months as he’s sent the nostalgic track “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset” to country radio. The video, seen here, was released earlier this month.
