Luke Combs is teaming up with Ford and Guitars 4 Vets to honor military veterans at this year’s ACM Awards, planning a star-spangled tribute performance with a big payoff.

Set for April 18 and already full of big-name performances — including one by Combs later in the show — organizers now say the night will include one more special moment. For a second year in a row, Combs, ACM Awards producers dick clark productions and Ford’s Proud to Honor program are shining a light on Guitars 4 Vets — an organization that helps veterans cope with PTSD through the healing power of music.

In the special tribute, Combs and a group of military veterans including Damon Williams — who participated in last year’s Ford Guitars 4 Vets initiative — will sing Williams’ self-penned song, “It’s Alright.” The all-new Ford F-150 will be on hand for the performance, of course. And meanwhile, deserving vets around the country will be receiving brand new guitars, helping them get back to a healthy life after their service is complete.

Last year, Combs and his partners donated $25,000 worth of custom guitars to Guitars 4 Vets’ chapters around the country, and this year Ford’s Proud to Honor initiative has already given $500,000. Fans and well wishers can help out as well, with donations taken at guitars4vets.org. Proud to Honor is the military initiative by Ford Motor Company to raise awareness, strengthen existing programs and create an even more meaningful connection with our service members. For more information, visit fordproudtohonor.com

Keith Urban and Mickey Guyton will co-host the 56th annual ACM Awards on CBS September 18 at 8 p.m. ET, broadcast live from three iconic Country Music venues: the Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe.

Maren Morris, Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert lead the field of nominees — with Luke Combs up for three trophies, including Entertainer of the Year. And performers include Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Alan Jackson, Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood and more.
