Rising star Mickey Guyton has announced her first full-length studio album, revealing the details of an upcoming set titled Remember Her Name.

Dropping on September 24 with 16 songs (15 of them co-written by Guyton), it finds a socially-conscious star continuing to share her vibrant vocal talent, and the perspective of a Black woman in country music.

Sharing the news on Monday (July 12), the acclaimed singer-songwriter says she sees the album as the pinnacle of her breakout chapter. With her profile growing fast after years of struggle, Guyton’s recent success has included a Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance and more, as she’s found her voice with impactful tracks like “Black Like Me” and “What Are You Gonna Tell Her?”

Remember Her Name is a culmination of the last ten years of my life in Nashville,” Guyton says. “This album is the closing of a chapter. All those years ago, I set out to create music that would make people feel self-empowered, loved, and comfortable with being themselves and this album holds true to all of that. I hope everyone who listens finds something that connects and speaks to them.”

The follow up to a pair of EPs in 2020 and 2021, Remember Her Name will gather material from throughout Guyton’s career. Her 2015 first single (“Better Than You Left Me”) will be featured alongside the Grammy nominated “Black Like Me,” plus 14 other tracks recorded with a handful of producers.

After scoring her Grammy nomination, Mickey Guyton also delivered a powerful performance of “Black Like Me” at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards in March — making her the first Black female country solo artist to do so. She also co-hosted the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards in April with Keith Urban, and recently performed at A Capitol Fourth on PBS to celebrate Independence Day.
