Tom Hiddleston Channels Hank Williams in ‘I Saw The Light’ Trailer

Tom Hiddleston may be English in real life, but he perfectly portrayed the legendary Hank Williams in the the biopic, “I Saw The Light.”

The recently released trailer opens with a quote by Wililams, “People don’t write music. It’s given to them.” The trailer goes on to show the many ups and downs of the singer’s life, from performances at the Grand Ole Opry to unfaithfulness and addiction.

The film was originally set for release on Nov. 28, but has since been moved back to March 25, 2016.

“We looked at the landscape and are making a decision that I think is a good one for the film,” Sony Pictures Classics co-president Tom Bernard explains (quote via Taste of Country). “Tom Hiddleston’s got three movies out potentially, so the press is consuming him. I am watching him here in New York everywhere. And he’s going back down the river to catch the monkey.”

Hiddleston is best know for playing Loki in “The Avengers” and “Thor.” Elizabeth Olsen will appear as Williams’ first wife, Audrey Sheppard.
