American Idol Season 16 winner Trent Harmon is healing from a broken heart in his recently debuted music video for “You Got Em’ All.” The story-driven video is laced with emotional turmoil as Harmon deals with inner-conflict regarding a break-up.

In the video, Harmon sings of the one who got away as his love interest goes off to pursue her dream to become a professional ballerina. While he understands and is supportive of his ex-love moving onto bigger and better things in order to fulfill her dream, he cannot avoid the feeling of helplessness that comes with losing someone he loves.

The heartbreak in the song and the video are not just for show. The emotions draw from real events in Harmon’s life, which inspired him to write the song in less than an hour with co-writers Justin Ebach and Jordan Minton.

“My girlfriend just told me over the phone that she was moving to Thailand with two days notice to fulfill her dream of teaching overseas. I was so happy for her but at the same time was so heartbroken that she was literally going to be across the world from me for an indefinite amount of time,” Harmon explained in a press release.

“You Got Em’ All” is the title track and lead single from Trent Harmon’s debut album, which is available for pre-order now.
