Tyler Hubbard Shows Off Black Eye in Instagram Video

Tyler Hubbard better have a good excuse for the giant shiner resting on his eye because that thing doesn’t look too pretty.

The Florida Georgia Line singer shared a video to his Instagram on Monday as a message to his wife, Haley, and showed off his latest look. He sang his own rendition to the band’s hit song, “Sundaze,” and the lyrics he chose to switch up took the lead from his new facial accessory.

“Wear my favorite glasses with my black eye” sang Hubbard, as he lifted his clear spectacles for a glance at the gnarly injury.

According to the caption, Hubbard’s new look comes in part thanks to “a little dirt nap this weekend on the motocross track.” It doesn’t seem to be getting him down too much though—he sends his love to his wife while merrily jamming along to the track in his car.

Hubbard and fellow Florida Georgia Line member Brian Kelley don’t have much to complain about lately. The guys’ latest single, “H.O.L.Y.,” has been spreading over country radio like wildfire and they were recently received CMT Awards nominations for Video of the Year and Group/Duo Video of the Year. When Kelley talked to Sounds Like Nashville, he spoke for himself and Hubbard about how humbled they are whenever these nominations come around.

“We’re thankful to be playing music, traveling, performing, connecting with our fans, and I think that’s one of the ways that we ultimately connect is fan-voted award shows. They’re the ones, it’s their voices. You know time and time again, they’ve been very faithful. Our fans have and voted for us,” said Kelley.

Fans can vote for FGL or any of their other favorite country artists for the CMT Awards here at CMT.com. The 2016 CMT Music Awards will air live from Nashville on June 8.
