Sam Hunt Finds Heaven on Earth in ‘Sinning With You’

Sam Hunt finds a piece of heaven on Earth in the new track “Sinning With You,” dropping a tender blast of small town R&B.

Built on quiet acoustic guitar strains and a crisp snap track, the track finds Hunt hitting his knees in musical fashion — but not to ask for forgiveness. Co-written by Hunt with Paul DiGiovanni, Josh Osborne, and Emily Weisband, the devoted ballad tells the story of a young couple who’s relationship might be outside the rules of their community, but ultimately feels like a godsend to them.

“I never felt like I was sinning with you / Always felt like I could talk to God in the morning / I knew that I would end up with you / Always felt like I could talk to God in the morning / If it’s so wrong why did it feel so right / If it’s so wrong why did it never feel like / Sinning with you,” goes the chorus.

Released today (January 3), “Sinning With You” is the second new song Hunt’s revealed off his upcoming sophomore album. The controversial hitmaker has already unveiled the grooving “Kinfolks,” which is currently inside country radio’s Top 10, and he helped ring in 2020 on ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest earlier this week.
