Country duo SmithField have returned with their first release of the year, “Sunday Best.”

The anthemic song features masterful lyrics that narrate the very essence of what true love is— loving each other for both their perfections and flaws.

“I want your Monday morning running late / Your little too drunk on a Saturday / All the ups and downs, baby don’t leave out a thing / Give me your momma’s temper and your daddy’s edge / Every bit of your every day beautiful mess / The side of you nobody gets to see / You don’t gotta wear your Sunday best for me,” the pair’s Jennifer Fielder and Trey Smith declare on the chorus with lush harmonies. The track was penned by both Fielder and Smith, alongside Trannie Anderson and Ian Christian.

“We’re beyond excited to start this next chapter of our story,” SmithField share in a press statement. “The experiences that we’ve had so far, have made us the best versions of ourselves, and given us some unique stories to tell. We feel this new music is the perfect translation of who we are. This is what SmithField was always meant to be.”

Prior to this, the hardworking independent duo released the uplifting “We’ll Figure It Out” last year, as well as a stunning reimagined version of their signature song, “Hey Whiskey.” Additionally the best friends dropped their We Make Our Own EP in 2019, which included the track, “Our World.”

Fans can expect a brand new EP from SmithField later this year.
