Dierks Bentley, Sheryl Crow and More Tribute Kris Kristofferson at CMAs

Dierks Bentley, Sheryl Crow and more delivered a rousing tribute to country legend Kris Kristofferson at the 53rd annual CMA Awards, powering through a smile-inducing version of Kristofferson’s classic “Me and Bobby McGee.”

Joined by The Eagles’ Joe Walsh, Brothers Osborne’s John Osborne and Chris Janson on a maniacal harmonica, the loose-and-fun performance made the group seem like the best cover band in Nashville — and perhaps the world, for that matter. Bentley led the collab, with Crow joining in for a verse and Walsh and Osborne trading guitar riffs.

Kristofferson wasn’t in attendance, but was named the 2019 Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award recipient in the weeks leading up to the show. The Country Music Hall of Fame Member was honored for his career-long impact as a singer-songwriter and more.

“Me and Bobby McGee” was just one of many collaborations on the night, which also included team ups featuring P!nk and Chris Stapleton, Brooks & Dunn and Brothers Osborne and many more.
