Morgan Wallen Is Aiming for Double Album Release

Hot on the heels of tying a chart record with his new single “7 Summers,” CMA New Artist of the Year nominee Morgan Wallen is looking to go big or go home. The hit maker told Twitter followers he’s pushing for his second album to be a double-LP.

“I just called my label and told em I wanna make a Double album,” the “Whiskey Glasses” star wrote. “Double checking y’all are good with that?”

Wallen likely new that answer to that question, as responses poured in praising the idea. “Just got off the phone with every single person,” wrote one fan. “We’re all good hoss.”

Wallen’s been ramping up for his sophomore set for quite some time, even going so far as to tell ET the project would already be done if not for COVID-19. But the timing for a big play may be just right, as Wallen’s “7 Summers” just achieved a rare feat that further shows off his career momentum. The nostalgic track debuted on top of the Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in late August — becoming only the fifth song in history to do so and the first since 2017. It also landed inside the all-genre Top 10.
