Quite a few country artists including Brantley Gilbert, Jana Kramer, Rodney Atkins and The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry got engaged in 2013. While some, like Love and Theft’s Stephen Barker Likes and Atkins, have already gotten married, others are busy planning their 2014 weddings.
Here’s a recap of the year in engagements….
Brantley Gilbert popped the question to Jana Kramer in January, on his 28th birthday, at the Ryman Auditorium. While there will be no wedding in the future for these two, we’re sure they have plenty of material to talk about on their next albums.
Singer/songwriter Whitney Duncan is also set to walk down the aisle to fiancé Keith Tollefson. Tollefson got down on one knee on Valentine’s Day 2013. Duncan and Tollefson met while filming “Survivor: South Pacific” in 2011.
Sarah Darling was proposed to in April in Key West, FL by her long-distance boyfriend, James Muriel. Darling later surprised fans with the announcement that she and Muriel had gotten married the same weekend!
Love and Theft’s Stephen Barker Liles got down on one knee for girlfriend Jenna Kennedy in May. Proposing in Fort Myers, FL, Liles had plenty of family and friends involved in the big day. Shortly after, the couple announced they were having a baby boy, whom they welcomed earlier this month. The couple is talking about a May 2014 wedding.
Country music brings people together and that certainly goes for hitmaker Rodney Atkins and his fiancée, country newcomer Rose Falcon. Falcon announced the May engagement by posting pictures of her ring. The couple wed on November 10.
It’s been a huge year for The Band Perry and an even bigger one personally for Kimberly Perry. The singer got engaged to J.P. Arencibia, starting catcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, on September 30. The baseball player proposed on Perry’s family farm, the place where she always pictured getting engaged.
Hayden Panettiere also has a lot to celebrate. On top of her success on the hit ABC show, “Nashville,” Panettiere also scored a fiancé, Olympic boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko. After playing coy about the engagement for months, the actress finally confirmed the news on “LIVE with Kelly and Michael.”
Singer/songwriter Mallary Hope scored the engagement of a lifetime! Hope was surprised by boyfriend Ryan Dokke when he met her in the circle on the Grand Ole Opry stage and asked her to be his wife. The surprise came just before Hope took the stage for her Opry performance.
Danielle Peck is also off the market after getting engaged this year. The “Findin’ A Good Man” singer certainly found herself a good man in boyfriend Josh Smith, who recreated their first date for the romantic proposal.
