With every single, Morgan Wallen continues to prove himself as a country mainstay and soon-to-be superstar. This week, the singer scored his third consecutive number one with “Chasin’ You.” The song clinched the top spot on both Billboard and Mediabase’s country radio airplay charts.

Penned alongside Craig Wiseman and Jamie Moore, Wallen’s latest hit tells the story of a brooding ex-boyfriend who can’t seem to get over his past love, even when he’s seemingly moved on with someone new.

In a press statement that brimmed with gratitude, Wallen shared the genesis of “Chasin’ You.”

“I remember the day we wrote this song. I had just moved to Nashville not even six months prior. I had never written with Craig or Jamie before, so I knew I needed to bring my A-game. They both made me feel comfortable and inspired,” the singer recalled. “When writing the song I never imagined that it would be a #1 or that I’d be singing it in front of thousands of people. It’s crazy to think about what all has transpired in my life since that day. But that day spurred a song, relationships, and a confidence that has helped me tremendously this far in my career. Thank you to everyone on my team for believing in me since day one.”

The Tennessee native added, “We’re all chasin’ something it seems, with this song we were chasin’ a #1 — looks like we were blessed enough to catch it.”

“Chasin’ You” follows Wallen’s preceding No.1 singles, 2 times PLATINUM “Whiskey Glasses” and 3 times PLATINUM “Up Down.” All three hit songs are featured in the his debut album, If I Know Me, released via Big Loud Records. A sophomore record is expected to be released later this year.

Wallen’s follow-up single, “More Than My Hometown,” impacts country radio next Wednesday, May 27.
