Carrie Underwood can’t contain herself any longer. On Thursday (April 7), the country superstar officially revealed a brand new album is on the way, and she calls it Denim & Rhinestones.

Making the surprise announcement on social media, Underwood says her ninth studio album will arrive on June 10, with pre-orders beginning Friday morning (April 8).

“I can’t wait any longer!! I have a new album coming June 10! Get ready for Denim & Rhinestones! Pre-order beginning at midnight ET! 💜💎 #DenimAndRhinestones,” she wrote.

The news follows the release of Underwood’s latest single, “Ghost Story,” which itself is her first solo country single since 2019’s “Drinking Alone” and the follow up to her Grammy winning gospel album, My Savior. Underwood recently performed the cheater-haunting revenge anthem at the 64th Grammy Awards, and a few weeks back, told Today’s Country With Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music Country what to expect from her new album.

Back then, it was still unannounced, but Underwood did say she was headed in a fresh direction.

“Yeah, it’s a lot of fun, and I feel like people are going to hear everything and just going to get some warm fuzzies,” she said. “Hopefully it’ll just make people happy to listen to. It’s a very like sing-into-your-hairbrush, in your house, in your room kind of album, which I think it’s going to translate well. I think people are going to like it.”

In other news, Carrie Underwood recently said goodbye to her beloved dog, Ace, and she will take the stage during the 2022 CMT Music Awards on Monday night (April 11), giving fans a sneak peek of her “Reflection” Las Vegas residency.
